Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on the 21st of September of 1983 in Worthington, Ohio, is an American actress. Maggie Grace is most well-known for her role as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills respectively in ABC's Lost television series. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington in Ohio, dropped out high school and moved to Los Angeles after her divorced parents. While struggling financially she landed her first role as the title character in the online video series Rachel's Room in 2001. She went on to earn a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002, for her role as fifteen-year-old victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder set in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford, the character in Lost from 2004 to 2005 was selected for a Screen Actors Guild Award. After leaving the show, Grace would like to be more prominently in film having starred opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. The role she played was Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken 2008) as Suburban Girl as well as The Jane Austen Book Club. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) were her reprises of characters. Grace returned to the character as Shannon for two additional episodes of Lost as well as the show's finale. Grace appeared in Californication's 6th season which ran from 2013 until 2014. The character she plays is Faith she is an admirer and muse to the stars. As a member of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the daughter of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and is the younger sibling of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The career of her mother began when she was an early teenager, as she was cast in minor role in films made from her father. In addition, she was a part of her brother in 2001's popular movie Donnie Darko. Her subsequent roles included Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind which was released in 2002 as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for her performance as a lead character actress in Secretary (2002), the erotic drama about romance and Sherrybaby (2006). She received a nomination from her fellow actors for the Golden Globe Award. She gained wider recognition when she portrayed Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) due to the success of several commercials she appeared in during the year 2006. She was nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Rachel Dawes in Crazy Heart, (2009). She subsequently starred in the comedy and dramas Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and The Won't Back Down (2012). The other roles she played were a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) as well as a singer in Frank (2014) and her role as the lead in the drama The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal debuted as a director and writer in 2021 with her psycho-drama The Lost Daughter. For the film, she won the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and nominated for an Academy Award.
